Tod's Pt. Lavatory Will Be Replaced

The Board of Selectmen have voted to replace the shuttered Lavatory Six Building at Tod's Point. The new facility will have more than twice the square footage to meet the requirements of the Americans With Disabilities Act. The old lavatory was closed two years ago because its septic system had failed, and portable toilets have been used in its place.

The selectmen approved a $500,000 allocation from this year’s capital budget for the replacement building.

Alan Monelli, town superintendent of building construction Monelli, noted that the current building, which has  separate men's and women's restrooms, measures only 360 square feet. He said the new lavatory will be about 50 feet west of the current building and will include a custodial closet and new septic system.
