A New Jersey man was charged with assaulting a 15-year-old Greenwich resident Sunday at Wilbur Peck Court. Diego Astudillo, 26, Union City, N.J., punched the teen in the face in an uprovoked attack during a picnic, police said. Astudillo told officers he was with his family at the picnic and was not involved. He was charged with assault in the third degree, threatening and risk of injury to a minor. He posted $90 bond and is due in court on Aug. 30.

? Nelson G. Lagos, 27, of 6 Austin St., Norwalk, was arrested Sunday on DWI charges. He was stopped at a checkpoint on Delevan Avenue as part of the Police Department's crackdown on drunken driving until Labor Day. Lagos failed three field sobriety tests after telling officers he had four beers before getting into the driver's seat. He also told officers he did not have a driver's license. He posted $260 bond and is due in court on Aug. 30.
? Eduardo Valdovinos, 27, of Port Chester, was arrested on DWI charges Thursday. Officers saw Valdovinos stopped at a red light at the intersection of Delavan Avenue and Frontage Road. Police said that as the traffic light turned he cut off another car. He was pulled over and failed three field sobriety tests. He was being held on $1,000 bond and is due in court on Sept. 2.
