Teen Arrested After Slapping Classmate

A Byram youth was arrested last Thursday for slapping another student in class several times after the classmate called her a lesbian. She was issued a juvenile summons for breach of peace and is due in court Oct. 19.

Also from the police blotter:

• A Greenwich teen was arrested Tuesday at Arch School after allegedly placing a burning lighter into the forearm of another student. The teen was issued a juvenile summons on charges of third-degree assault and is due in court Oct. 26.

• A minor was arrested Monday after alcohol, marijuana and drug paraphernalia was allegedly found on her during a vehicle stop. Emily C. Manning, 20, of 753 Den Road, Stamford, showed officers a small amount of marijuana and a smoking pipe after they smelled the substance coming from inside the car. A one-liter bottle of alcohol was also found in the car. Manning was issued a misdemeanor summons for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol by a minor. She was released after signing a promise to appear in court Oct. 18.

• A juvenile was arrested on Horseneck Lane on Saturday after allegedly stealing a bicycle from the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich. A witness named the youth a suspect. The youth admitted to riding the bike only after believing it to be abandoned and placed the bike near the property "hoping" it would be there the next day. The youth was issued a juvenile summons on charge of fifth-degree larceny and is due in court Oct. 26.
