A burglary-in-progress was reported in Byram Thursday night on Mead Avenue, police said. A man came home to find his front door forced open and his flat-screen TV outside. Police were unable to locate a suspect after searching the area.

Also from the police blotter:

Shalynda April Anderson, 28, of 85 Valley Road in Cos Cob was arrested Wednesday after she was found with a used syringe that police determined she used to inject illegal narcotics. During the investigation, Anderson gave officers a false name. Her real name was found out and police discovered she was wanted by the state Department of Corrections’ Parole Division for parole violations. She was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and interfering with a police officer. Anderson was released on a promise to appear in court on March 2. She was then turned over to state parole officers for the parole violation.
