Suspect Charged in Greenwich Jewelry Store Robbery

GREENWICH, Conn. – A third suspect was arrested Tuesday in connection with a robbery at Greenwich Avenue’s Lux Bond & Green jewelry store in September.

Steven Caraballo, 26, of 338 Forbell St., Brooklyn, N.Y., was being detained in New York on a warrant and had to waive extradition before being taken into Greenwich police custody Tuesday. He was arrested and charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and larceny.

Caraballo was being held on $100,000 bond and was due in court Wednesday.

In September, Raymond Andrew Nunes, 25, of 348 Prospect St., was charged with stealing several Rolex watches from the jewelry store, police said. No weapon was displayed, and no one was injured during the heist. Nunes reportedly left the store and got into a getaway car waiting on Greenwich Avenue.

An off-duty officer saw the car and followed it to a parking lot on Dayton Avenue near West Putnam Avenue. The two men fled on foot with the officer in pursuit, and Nunes was apprehended, police said.

Sarah White-Lebarre, 23, of 11 School St., Terryville, was also arrested and charged with conspiring with Nunes to commit the robbery, police said.
