A Port Chester man who allegedly robbed the pharmacy at the Greenwich Avenue CVS on Sunday using a pellet gun was arrested shortly afterward.
Dominick F. Glowacki, 27, of 363 Willett Ave. walked into the store at 10 a.m. and demanded all the Oxycodone and Xanax in the pharmacy, police said. The pharmacist gave the prescription narcotics to the man and he left the store. No one was injured in the robbery.
Within minutes, a suspect matching the robbers description was seen walking north on Greenwich Ave. Lt. Kraig Gray, spokesman for the police department, said a CVS employee pointed the man out to a patrol officer and said, Thats him.
Glowacki reportedly threw the BB gun to the ground and was taken into custody. Police said he was found with 924 Oxycontin pills. Glowacki was charged with robbery in the first degree, and was being held on a $100,000 bond. Glowacki was to be arraigned in Stamford on Monday.
It was the second time a CVS pharmacy in Greenwich has been robbed of narcotics in just a month. Last month, a
Cos Cob man, Patrick Marr, 23, of 10 River Lane, allegedly held up the CVS pharmacy in Riverside at knifepoint. Marr was arrested on Jan. 18 on first-degree robbery charges and has pleaded not guilty.
Just days before the robbery, assistant manager Daniel Janis told TheDailyGreenwich he was not nervous about robberies because the store is not open 24 hours and because the store had taken precautions. "Drugs like OxyContin are secured in a safe behind the pharmacy counter," said Janis. "We also have a camera system that feeds into our corporate offices and could be accessed after the fact."
The pharmacist acted according to store policy, Janis said, adding that employees are trained to comply with the demands of robbers.
