Subway in Greenwich Robbed at Gunpoint

A man with a handgun held up the Subway on Greenwich Avenue Friday night. He came into the shop at 7:45 p.m.  and ordered a sandwich. He then pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the employee, threatening her if she did not comply. The employee, who was by herself in the shop, gave the man the money and he left.

The robber was described as a 6-foot-tall white male, age approximately 35 to 40, clean-shaven, with a thin build, green or hazel eyes and brown hair. He was wearing a puffy green hoodie with a black knit cap and blue jeans. Police said it was not certain how much money was taken.

Anyone with information about the robbery should contact the department’s tip line at (203) 622-3333, 1-800-372-1176 or by email.
