A teen from Stamford was issued a summons in Greenwich on Thursday on possession of marijuana charges. The teen was standing outside a home on Arther Street when police questioned him. After he consented to a search, police found an orange packet of Zig-Zag rolling papers in his jeans pocket as well as a small bag filled with marijuana in his jacket. The teen was issued a misdemeanor summons on charges of possession of marijuana of less than 4 ounces and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a promise to appear in court Feb. 11.

Orlando J. Velez, 26, of 288 Montauk Drive, Stamford, was arrested Monday on marijuana and motor vehicle charges. Velez was driving on Byram Road when police checked the license plates on his car and found his car registration had expired. When he was stopped, Velez was told his car would be towed for lack of registration and for having his license plate improperly displayed. During a search of his car, police found a marijuana cigarette in the front ashtray as well as a small bag containing marijuana. Velez was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and illegible plates. He was released on a promise to appear in court Feb. 14.
