Sparse Use of Greenwich Point Radios

After a week since the new radio communication system was put in at Greenwich Point, only one beach-goer has taken advantage of them.

"I think it's a great system," said Annmarie Smutney, a gatekeeper at Greenwich Point. "If people were to get injured they have the ability to call 911."

The radios were intended to be an extra line of communication for visitors, since cell service was sporadic throughout the park. Although, gatekeepers seem hopeful that people will begin to use them more often.
