Greenwich's Sophie S. Ducher, an active sportswoman, died Oct. 19 at the age of 51. She was born in Montmorency, France.
Ducher's family said she was a strong willed woman who never complained. She remained active in sports such as, golf, tennis and bowling. Ducher spent all of her time tending to her family. She also spent most of her life surrounded by animals, especially her dogs.
She is survived by her husband Eric; children, Nicolas, Xavier and Virginie. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church on Oct. 25. Ducher was buried at Putnam Cemetery.
