School Bd. Denies Coach's Appeal

The school board has rejected an appeal by Greenwich High School boys' tennis coach Connie Jones, who was suspended following her arrest in April, according to published reports. The board's action came on a 6-1 vote in a closed-door meeting July 17.  Jones was not notified until Tuesday, according to Greenwich Time. On April 20, Jones was charged with breach of peace after she allegedly pushed a state trooper during a traffic stop on I-95 following a match. Jones is due back in court on Aug. 17.
