Rosa Screnci, a longtime Greenwich resident, died Feb. 22. She was 80 years old.
Screnci was born in Santa Caterina Ionio, Italy, and grew up the youngest of four children. She immigrated to the United States in 1949 with her husband, Gabriele. The couple worked toward the "American Dream" and built a comfortable life for their family. Screnci was known for her exceptional cooking and sewing skills.
She is survived by her children, Catherine, Fiore and Nicholas, and eight grandchildren. A Mass was held Feb. 24 at St. Mary Church. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery.
