Prince Harry Visits Storm-Stricken Towns Before Greenwich Arrival

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Prince Harry has a few more stops to make before his polo appearance in Greenwich, starting with a pair of New Jersey towns hit hard by Superstorm Sandy.

Prince Harry will stop in New York and New Jersey on Tuesday before wrapping up his tour of the U.S. in Greenwich.

The prince will tour Mantoloking and Seaside Heights, N.J., with Gov. Chris Christie on Tuesday. The barrier-island towns were two of the hardest-hit towns in the October hurricane, with nearly 100 homes damaged beyond repair.

It is the first visit by a member of the British royal family to New Jersey since King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, Harry's great-grandparents, went to the state in 1939, according to USA Today.

Prince Harry was reportedly invited out to party with members of MTV's "Jersey Shore", but he might be unlikely to accept after his infamous trip to Las Vegas last summer, when he was photographed nude playing billiards.

British Prime Minister David Cameron will meet up with Harry on Tuesday to promote British industry and tourism as they ride into Manhattan in one of London's new double-decker Routemaster buses. The bus is on a two-year world tour as part of a campaign to promote Britain.

On Wednesday, Harry, third in line to the throne in the United Kingdom, will compete in the fourth Sentebale Royal Salute Polo Cup at the Greenwich Polo Club in the last stop of a weeklong tour of the United States.

The Greenwich event is invitation-only and is closed to the public. The polo club is on North Street at Hurlingham Drive in backcountry Greenwich near the New York border.

Prince Harry's trip to Greenwich will not cost anything to taxpayers, according to Greenwich police.

Harry kicked off his weeklong tour of America last week, visiting an exhibit on landmines in Washington, D.C., a cause that was important to his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. He then paid his respects to fallen soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery.

The prince also attended the Wounded Warrior Games in Colorado Springs, Colo., on Saturday and Sunday. The games included veterans wounded in Afghanistan and Iraq. Prince Harry served in the British Army in Afghanistan.
