Port Chester Man Charged in Greenwich Car Chase

GREENWICH, Conn. – A Port Chester, N.Y., man was charged in Greenwich on Wednesday morning after another driver reported the man was chasing them, police said.

At 6 a.m., an officer saw a dark colored sedan followed by a white SUV speeding eastbound on West Putnam Avenue. While attempting to catch up to the vehicles, police received a 911 call from the passenger in the sedan, who said the white SUV was chasing them for an unknown reason, according to a police report.

Both vehicles were stopped on the Post Road in Cos Cob. John Giordano, 522, of 126 Haseco Ave., said he had seen the sedan run a red light in Port Chester and had tried to contact the Port Chester Police Department while following the vehicle, but the call did not go through. Giordano did not attempt to contact Greenwich Police.

He was charged with breach of peace, a misdemeanor, and is due in court May 2.
