Polls Are Open: Cast Your Ballot

Election Day 2010 is here, and though Greenwich has no local contests, residents can still cast ballots for congress, U.S. Senate, governor and other state seats.

Voters will elect members of the state House of Representatives, and the Registrars of Voters have set up signs at select polling places to guide residents to the proper voting machine.

The signs read, "This year, this polling place is being used for THREE races for state representative. As a result, there are more lines than in a municipal election. If you don't know which line you need to be in, a poll worker will be happy to assist."

You polling location can be found on the town's Web site by entering your street address. For quick reference, here are the polling locations in town:

? Districts 1, 1A, 1B: Julian Curtiss School Gymnasium, 180 E. Elm St.

? Districts 2, 2A: Town Hall, first-floor Meeting Room 101, Field Point Road

? Districts 3, 3A: Western Middle School, 1 Western Junior Highway

? Districts 4, 4A: New Lebanon School Gymnasium, 25 Mead Ave., Byram

? Districts 5, 5A: Riverside School Gymnasium, 90 Hendrie Ave., Riverside

? District 6: Old Greenwich School Gymnasium, 285 Sound Beach Ave., Old Greenwich

? Districts 7, 7A: Greenwich High School, 10 Hillside Road

? District 8: Central Middle School Gymnasium, Stanwich Road

? District 9: Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center, 449 Pemberwick Road

? Districts 10, 10A: Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center, 449 Pemberwick Road

? Districts 11, 11A: North Street School Gymnasium, 381 North St.

? District 12: North Mianus School Gymnasium, 309 Palmer Hill Road, Riverside

Before heading to the polls voters can preview the ballot at the "Vote-EZ-CT" link on Secretary of the State Susan Bysiwicz's Web site.

The town Registrars of Voters' signs offer one last reminder to voters: "Please be patient and remember to thank the poll workers who are working a 14-hour day today."
