Police Arrest Man Found Sleeping in Greenwich Home

GREENWICH, Conn. – A 41-year-old man found drunk and asleep in his wife's Greenwich home has been arrested on a charge of violating a protective order, police said.

Jose Aguirre, of 28 Grace Church St., Port Chester, N.Y., allegedly entered his wife’s home intoxicated and fell asleep on her bed last week. He was held on $1,000 bond and was due in court March 22.

Also from the Greenwich Police Department:

 • A 67-year-old Greenwich woman was arrested in connection with the alleged shoplifting of $108 worth of items from CVS at 1239 E. Putnam Ave. Patricia Vanderbes, of 231 Palmer Hill Road, was charged with larceny Saturday after she was seen putting several items into a black bag and leaving the store without paying for them, police said. She told police she was sorry she took the items, did not know why she did it and that she had never done anything like it before. She was charged and released on $100 bond. She is due in court April 2.

• A 54-year-old Greenwich woman was arrested on drunken-driving charges late Saturday after hitting a parked car. Elizabeth Rousso, of 27 Putnam Green Unit G, was charged with driving while under the influence and making an improper turn after she was seen driving her car erratically on Western Junior Highway and hitting a parked Jaguar in the parking lot at 1 Putnam Green, police said. Rousso failed field sobriety tests and was held on $250 bond. She is due in court April 9.
