GREEWNICH, Conn. A Norwalk woman was charged with driving with a forged drivers license in Greenwich, police said.
Albertina Mejia, 36, of 7 Melbourne Road, was pulled over by police when she was seen passing a stopped school bus with its flashers on and its stop arm extended as it picked up children, according to the arrest report. She allegedly handed over a fake ID that she claimed was a drivers license. A DMV check showed that her license was suspended in Connecticut.
Mejia was arrested on charges of forgery, operating under suspension and passing a stopped school bus. She was held on $2,000 bond and is due in court April 30.
However, police also found Mejia had two separate warrants out of Norwalk for failure to appear in court. She was being held on $25,000 bond and is due in court May 2 to answer those charges.
