Norwalk Man Charged in 2007 Greenwich Bank Heist

GREENWICH, Conn. – A Norwalk man was arrested Wednesday and charged with taking part in the robbery of an Old Greenwich bank in 2007.

Edens Gabriel, who is serving a prison term for an unrelated robbery, was charged with robbery and two counts of larceny, Greenwich police said. On Oct. 5, two black men entered the Patriot National Bank with handguns and demanded cash. They fled in a minivan with an undisclosed amount of money. The minivan was discovered abandoned a short distance away.

Investigators in the department Forensics Section processed the crime scene and getaway vehicle. Police said a DNA profile led to the arrest of Gabriel. He is held in the Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center in Uncasville and is due in court Sept 21.
