The mother told a detective she was under a lot of stress and said the child was out of control. She told police that in anger, she threw a small piggy bank into her son's closet but didn't mean to hit him.

She was arrested on charges of risk of injury to a child and third-degree assault. She posted $1,000 bond and was released. The woman is due in court Jan. 18. The child was taken into 96-hour minimum custody of the Department of Children and Families.
