Michael Capalbo, Pitney Bowes Buyer

Lifelong Riverside resident Michael Capalbo Jr., an Army veteran and longtime employee at Pitney Bowes, died Oct. 7 at the age of 77.

Capalbo, known by Cappy to close friends, was born in Cos Cob in 1933. He worked at the Stamford-based Pitney Bowes, a physical and digital communications company, for 36 years. Capalbo retired as a senior buyer in 1991. In his earlier years, he served two years in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ginny; sons Michael III, Steven and Bobby; and a brother and five grandchildren.

Friends and family may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4 Riverside Ave., Riverside. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
