On Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24, trains will operate on a regular weekday schedule with longer trains at key times. Also, 20 additional trains -- including 11 on the New Haven Line heading to Connecticut -- will depart Grand Central between noon and 4:10 p.m.
On Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25, hourly service will be operated on all lines and off-peak fares will be in effect.
For the busy travel days from Thursday, Dec. 26, to Monday, Dec. 30, additional trains will run on all lines from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
If you are traveling with family or friends, Metro-North recommends using a 10-trip off-peak ticket. Riders will save 30 percent to 40 percent off the one-way off-peak fare, and the ticket can be used by more than one person when traveling together.
On New Year’s Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 31, trains will run on a reduced weekday morning peak schedule, an early afternoon getaway schedule and reduced PM Peak service.

For those staying for the party, all passengers on trains leaving Grand Central Terminal after midnight must have their tickets purchased in advance. They will be collected before boarding.
Metro North also asks that passengers refrain from bringing open containers on trains departing from Grand Central.
On New Year’s Day, Wednesday, Jan. 1, hourly train service will run and all fares will be off-peak.
