Man Held in $19,850 Jewel Theft

A handyman was arrested Monday for stealing jewelry worth $19,850 from a Greenwich resident he had been working for. Following an investigation by the Greenwich Police Department Burglary Clearance Squad, Edgar L. Mancio, 50, of 140 Pearl St. in Port Chester admitted stealing the jewelry from his employer. Mancio was charged with larceny in the first degree and is being held on $25,000 bond. He is due in court Aug. 30.

? Two Port Chester men were arrested on Deepwoods Lane in Greenwich on charges of disorderly conduct and third degree assault Monday after a fistfight. Police said Cosmo M. Micalone, 30, of 18 Hilltop Drive and Jose R. Ribeiro, 51, of 304 Midland Ave. fought after Ribeiro said Micalone hit him in the face. Micalone said the fight started over services owed by Ribeiro for carpentry work. Both men were injured in the fight. Both were released on $250 bonds and are due in court on Aug. 30.

? At 21-year-old Greenwich man was arrested for breach of peace and interfering with an officer last Thursday at the St. Catherine's fair. Michael Paul McDermott of 64 Orchard St. was acting disorderly at the fair, yelling at a carnival worker to give him a cork gun from the game booth. Police said. They said the man was asked to leave and refused. McDermott refused to provide identification and continued to refuse to leave the property. He was given a summons to appear in court on August 26.
