Man Charged With Stealing Cars in Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. — A man from the Bronx, N.Y., was arrested on a warrant Wednesday in a motor vehicle theft and several burglaries from cars last fall, Greenwich police said.

Andre Salmon, 29, was arrested at Westchester County Jail, where he had been held on several charges, including fugitive from justice. Police said Salmon broke into several cars in Greenwich and stole credit cards and other items. He then used those cards to buy thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. He was tracked down by credit card usage and video surveillance.

He was arrested on charges of burglary, larceny, identity theft, receipt of goods from use of a stolen credit card and credit card theft. He was held on $100,000 bond and is due in court Sept. 7.
