An Elmont, N.Y., man was arrested after allegedly using a fraudulent credit card to try to buy a laptop. Kareem Harris, 22, of 92 King Court left a Post Road store quickly when he was asked to verify the cards authenticity.
Harris told Greenwich police he tried to buy the laptop with a credit card that was not his. He said someone gave him the card, but he could not remember who loaned it to him, police said. When the card did not go through, he left the store and threw away the card. Another laptop computer was found in his car, which police found had been purchased with the fraudulent card.
He was arrested on charges of criminal attempt at larceny, criminal attempt at illegal use of credit card, larceny and interfering with police. He was being held on $10,000 bond and is due in court May 27.

Scott Travers, 25, of 89 Prince St., Boston, was arrested early Friday on drunken driving charges after he was stopped while allegedly speeding on North Street. He failed field sobriety tests and was charged with driving under the influence and traveling fast. He was held on $500 bond and is due in court Saturday.
Edward Frank Myder, 25, of 22 Grey Rock Drive, Greenwich, was arrested Tuesday on drug and weapons charges after he was stopped by police because of an active arrest warrant. Myder was stopped on Palmer Hill Road and police found a folding knife in the center console and several prescription medications not prescribed to him in a backpack. He was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and weapons in a motor vehicle. He was released on $2,500 bond and is due in court May 25.
A man was arrested during a domestic violence incident stemming from a fight with a woman while walking on West Putnam Avenue. The fight escalated when the victim locked the mans cell phone and the man grabbed the woman by her throat, police said. He was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, assault and strangulation. He was held on $1,000 bond and was due in court Friday.
