GREENWICH, Conn. A suspicious package at the Old Greenwich Metro-North train station Friday afternoon turned out to be a lunch pail and nothing more, police stated.
Before 3 p.m. the police department received a call from Metro-North Railroad asking for assistance in clearing the train platform after a suspicious package was reported, according to Lt. Kraig Gray, spokesman for the Greenwich Police Department.
The Stamford Bomb Squad and police teamed up to find the package, which turned out to be a lunch pail. It contained some pipes or something of that nature, but I cant tell you exactly. Bottom line is, its nothing, said Gray.
By 3:54 the area, was clearing out in time for the evening rail commute.
