Louis Sciglimpaglia, Talented Musician

Accomplished musician and former Greenwich resident Louis L. Sciglimpaglia died Saturday, Jan. 8, at Danbury Hospital. He was 83 years old.

In the 1940s, Sciglimpaglia toured the country playing the saxophone and clarinet for a number of large bands. He later joined the Sentimental Seventeen Orchestra. Sciglimpaglia changed careers and became an insurance agent for Prudential in the late 1970s. He and his team were awarded the Presidential Award in 1978.

Sciglimpaglia is survived by four children, Victor Di Paglia, LuAnn Di Paglia, Larry Sciglimpaglia and Lisa Ricciardi, and three grandchildren. A service was held on Monday, Jan. 10. Memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
