James Edward Flynn, Lifelong Greenwich Resident

GREENWICH, Conn. – James Edward Flynn, of Greenwich, died Tuesday after a short illness. He was 68.

Flynn was born on Sept. 24, 1943, in Greenwich to James and Regina Flynn. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1961 and received a degree in accounting from Pace University. He married Tania Eyler and the couple raised a family of four children in Greenwich.

Flynn opened his own accounting firm, Flynn & Co. CPA, in the mid-1980s. He was an active member of the community, serving as past president of the Greenwich Jaycees and past president of the Kiwanis Club of Greenwich. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #39, the finance committee at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants.

He is survived by his wife; son James, of Stamford; daughter Shayla and husband Robert Smith, of Norwalk; son Robert, of Greenwich; daughter Heather and husband Walt Niedner, of New York City; and three grandchildren.

A funeral was held Friday at St. Agnes Church in Greenwich followed by a burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Greenwich
