Island Beach Ferry To Resume Saturday

The Arch Street harbor has been missing one of its ferries to Island Beach for over a week, but have no fear beachgoers, the Indian Harbor Ferry is slated for launch once again on Sunday.

The 225-passenger boat built in 1937 broke down July 15 and has been in Bridgeport for repairs ever since. According to a release by the Department of Parks and Recreation, the boat will be launched in a sea trial on Saturday in Bridgeport. If it passes muster, the boat will return to Greenwich Saturday evening to set sail once again on Sunday. The Indian Harbor's sister boat, the Island Beach Ferry, will be running as usual on Saturday.
