Humpback Whale Spotted Off Long Island Sound

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – A humpback whale was sighted off of Long Island Sound near Mamaroneck and Larchmont last Saturday while jumping out of the water, according to lohud.com.

A group of onlookers at the American Yacht Club saw the whale, estimated at over 20 feet long, breach the water, the report said.

It was just the latest in a series of sightings over the past week. The whale was sighted on Friday afternoon, Labor Day and Wednesday, reported lohud.com.
