Hugh Friedmann, Loved to Skeet Shoot

Hugh C. Friedmann of Greenwich, an accomplished skeet shooter and retired business executive, died on Sunday, Jan. 9. He grew up in Hawthorne, N.Y., and attended Andover School and Yale University.

After graduating from Yale in 1955, he married Patricia F. Archdeacon. Friedmann served three years in the Air Force, earning the rank of 1st lieutenant. He then went on to pursue a career with Ruben H. Donnelly, the directory company. Freidmann worked his way up to become general manager and retired at the age of 55.

During his free time, he enjoyed skeet shooting with his son, John. They won various awards, including the Father Son Great Eastern Prize. The two would hunt grouse together for Christmas Eve dinner.

In addition to his son and wife, he is survived by his daughter, Teal King, and a grandson. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 15, at 2 p.m. at St. Saviour Church. The Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home in Greenwich handled the arrangements.
