HS Tennis Coach Waiting to Hear Her Fate

Connie Jones, the Greenwich High boys' tennis coach suspended following an arrest in April, awaits the Board of Education's decision this week on her future with the district according to published reports. On April 20 Jones was accused of pushing state trooper during a traffic stop on Interstate 95 following a match. She was arrested on charges of second-degree breach of peace, Greenwich Time reported.

The five-hour closed-door meeting on Monday night to hear Jones' appeal of the district's decision not to renew her contract for next season has yet to yield an announcement of the results, according to the report. "As per policy, we've had the hearing and we will issue our finding in a reasonable time," Board of Education Chairman Steven Anderson said in an interview on Wednesday.
