Parking rules for Hearthstone Drive will soon be changing. At Thursday's Board of Selectmen meeting, First Selectman Peter Tesei agreed to replace a sign prohibiting parking during school hours with a sign saying "No Parking, U.S. Mail Delivery and Pick-Up Only."
The shift is part of a project that requires "relocating certain mailboxes to the westbound side of the street where the new sidewalk is going," said town traffic coordinator Melissa Evans. "In order to do that and have it be effective for neighbors to access their mailboxes, we need to change parking regulations that are there."
The sign now posted on Hearthstone outlaws parking from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday on school days. A date for the change has not been determined.
