Harold M. Bruno, a longtime Greenwich resident, died at his home Feb. 8. He was 88.
Bruno grew up in town and was the youngest of five children. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Bruno co-owned and operated the former Greenwich Food Centers with his brothers James and Joseph. Bruno also appeared in "Who's Who in Executives and Professional" in its 2005-06 edition as a grocery supermarket distributor. He was a fourth-degree Knight of Columbus.
Bruno was predeceased by his wife Anna Rich Bruno; son Peter J. Bruno; brothers Joseph and James Bruno; sisters Carmella Bruno and Rose Perna; and his parents Peter J. and Grace Bruno.
He is survived by daughter Patricia Gramlich and husband John; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich, on Feb. 11 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Feb. 12 at St. Mary's Church on Greenwich Avenue at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
