GREENWICH, Conn. – People’s United Bank Greenwich branches and the Hannah Storm Foundation will join forces this holiday season during their “Brighten up a Child’s Life” fundraising campaign, kicking off Nov. 29 with a reception attended by Hannah Storm at 119 E. Putnam Ave. in Cos Cob.
For every $5 donation made at any of the People’s United Greenwich-area locations through Jan. 5, customers, visitors and employees will have the opportunity to illuminate one light on a holiday tree.
The trees will be displayed in branch lobbies located at:
- 1155 E. Putnam Ave., Riverside;
- 119 E. Putnam Ave., Cos Cob;
- 410 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich; and
- 146 Sound Beach Ave., Old Greenwich.
“Our goal is to raise $20,000 by the New Year,” said Stephen Shealy, People’s United Bank vice president and senior market manager in Greenwich. “We are proud to work with the foundation and to make a difference for these wonderful children – the earlier we can help them, the better chance they have to lead healthy, rewarding lives.”

The Hannah Storm Foundation was created in 2008. Its mission is raising awareness, funding treatment and providing information for children suffering from disfiguring vascular birthmarks.
Hannah's passion stems from having a port wine stain birthmark underneath her left eye. The Foundation also funds the Hannah Storm Journalism Internship at Notre Dame. It was started in 2006 as an opportunity for current Notre Dame undergraduate students to gain practical experience while working in the Alumni Association's Communications and Marketing department.
