Frances A. Bonaparte, a Riverside resident and retired social worker, died of Parkinson's disease at Nathaniel Witherell on Feb. 14. She was 85.
Bonaparte grew up in Whitinsville, Mass., graduated from Elms College and received a master's degree in social work from Fordham University. Bonaparte met her husband, Mario, in 1954 and moved to Greenwich in 1955. She worked as a social worker at the Services, now known as Greenwich Family Center, for many years. After her first retirement, Bonaparte returned to social work at Greenwich Adult Day Care. In her free time, she enjoyed playing tennis and spending time with members of the Old Greenwich Garden Club.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Mario; five children, Paul Bonaparte-Krogh, Ellen Bonaparte, Kate Wilen, Michael Bonaparte and David Bonaparte; sister Helen Deluca; and eight grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 18 at St. Catherine of Siena, 4 Riverside Ave., Riverside.
