The conservancy members will take a guided walking tour, hosted by author Todd Forrest, through the gardens on Oct. 23, according to a press release from the group. Forrest recently authored “Magnificent Trees of the New York Botanical Garden” and is the vice president for Horticulture & Living Collections at New York Botanical Garden, according to the release.
On the tour, Forrest is scheduled to "detail the fascinating histories of many of the diverse species present in this 250-acre landscape during the walk" on a private tour, according to the release. A private tram will transport the group between areas of the Botanical Garden.
The tour includes bus transportation, a guided tour, lunch, private tram and access to other buildings and exhibits for self-touring, according to the release. The tour is $80 for members and $95 for non-members and will depart from Greenwich at 9 a.m. at the Island Beach Parking Lot and return to the lot by 4 p.m.
Tickets for the tour may be purchased online at the Greenwich Tree Conservancy website.
