Greenwich To Host Shredding Day At Island Beach Parking Lot

GREENWICH, Conn. -- If you have sensitive documents that need to be shredded but you don't know where to go, the Greenwich Recycling Advisory Board and Greenwich Green & Clean are hosting an event that can help you.

Bring any documents you need destroyed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday to the Island Beach Parking Lot across from Town Ferry Dock.

The cost is one can of tuna or fruit per box, or $1 per box with the proceeds going to support the Thanksgiving food collection. There is an eight-box maximum per car and boxes should be 12 inches by 18 inches by 12 inches.

Acceptable documents to shred include:

  • Financial statements
  • Old legal and tax documents
  • Medical records
  • Social Security records

Please remove metal clips, plastic bindings, binders, cardboard and Pendaflex. Staples are OK.
