Greenwich to Get Another Slice of Pie

The pizza king of Naples is coming to Greenwich. Five-time World Pizza champion Bruno DiFabio and his partner, Steve Cioffi, plan to open ReNapoli on Sound Beach Avenue in mid-January.

The pair currently own six other pizzeria’s in New York and Connecticut, including Pinocchio Pizza and Pasta restaurants in New Canaan and Wilton.

The new Old Greenwich outlet will feature two pizza ovens – one wood-fired and the other a traditional brick-floor type. The ovens will be able to create three varieties of pies: The Romana, a pan pizza that is divided into three parts, the Napoletana, a thin-crust pizza that won DiFabio the World Pizza Cup in Naples, and the New York Pie, known for a doughier, chewier crust.

The name ReNapoli means "King of Naples" and refers to  DiFabio's wins in the Naples competitions. The pizzeria will also offer a variety of sandwiches, salads and pasta dishes.
