A 19-year-old Greenwich resident was arrested on possession of marijuana charges after police became suspicious of a car on Melrose Avenue Wednesday. Jacob D. Zadick, of 3 Woodside Drive, was in a car with two other passengers. Police said the cars engine had been running for half an hour but the car hadnt moved. When police approached they smelled marijuana and Zadick admitted to having a small amount in his pocket. He was issued a misdemeanor summons and is due in court on Jan. 7.

Tone E. Birittieri, 44, of 36 Francis Lane, Greenwich, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of failure to appear. He was supposed to be in court on Dec. 22. He was taken into custody Tuesday and released on a $2,500 bond. He is due in court on Jan. 5.
