Greenwich Talent Show Postponed

GREENWICH, Conn. – The talent and variety show called Greenwich Has Got Talent has been temporarily postponed, the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce announced Friday.

The event, which was scheduled for March 31 at Greenwich High School, would be undergoing some fine-tuning to “elevate the show to a higher professional level,” the chamber said.

Jeff Weber, co-chairman of the show and chairman of the chamber's board, said the show typically is in the fall. But this year, the chamber opted to showcase the town’s talent in the spring.

“With the limited time frame, we have found that some of the resources we require for putting on a show of this caliber are not available or have conflicts with timing,” Weber said in a statement. “We are currently working with all parties to determine a great new date that will work for everyone, and garner a large audience to come and cheer on our terrific performers.”

In its fourth year, Greenwich Has Got Talent was turned into a competition this year, resulting in a grand prize winner, with the audience voting on the winning act. The show is the major fundraiser for chamber, and a portion of the proceeds of the show pay for a scholarship for a Greenwich High School student majoring in business in college.

Updates on the show will be announced on the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce’s website.
