The Greenwich Avenue post office will be moving its main branch operations to the former Choice Pet Supply store on Amogerone Cross Way. An official moving date has not been set.
A "for sale" sign was posted outside the post office in September. The U.S. Postal Service announced early last year plans to sell the building to downsize to a smaller space.
The 17,000-square-foot space is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Postal service officials said in September they are looking for buyers that would preserve the building and the 1939 mural in the lobby.
