GREENWICH, Conn. First Selectman Peter Tesei announced Wednesday the formation of an Economic Advisory Committee to help attract new businesses to the Greenwich area.
In addition, the nine-member panel will advise Tesei on ways to expand current businesses and keep him informed of business events and programs in neighboring communities. The committee will work directly with businesses to get feedback for Tesei on town projects, initiatives, and policies, as well as help new businesses considering moving to town. Finally, the committee will identify federal and state programs that can help support the business community.
The Economic Advisory Committee includes:
? James Aiello, president of the real estate investment firm JAA Advisors. He has an extensive background in financial management and marketing analysis.
? Leonard Szczesny, president of S.E. Minor, licensed professional engineers, land surveyors and environmental scientists.
? Tamara Ketler, founder of TMK Sports and Entertainment, which promotes and produces high-profile events in Greenwich community and nationally.
? Jay Madia, head of equities at Partner Re Asset Management in Greenwich, where he manages a $1 billion global value fund. Madia has over 12 years experience investing in equities and distressed debt.
? Kathy OMalley, a longtime resident and owner of Hoagland's of Greenwich, one of the major bridal and baby registry gift shops in the metropolitan area.
? James Ritman, a Greenwich resident who has been responsible for real estate deals worth over $1.7 billion as managing director of Newmark Knight Frank.
? Sabine Schoenberg, a former member of the Representative Town Meeting who has been involved in Greenwich real estate for the past 23 years. She has extensive knowledge of land regulations and other town issues.
? Paul Settelmeyer, a current Representative Town Meeting member with 35 years experience as a commercial bank lender, including positions as president of two banks and president of a commercial mortgage company. He also served as chairman of the audit committee of a publicly held bank and as chairman of the Southwest Regional Planning Agency.
? Scott Weiner, a business manager with 25 years experience in various industries. He is currently the Roto-Rooter Services Company General Manager for Connecticut.
