GREENWICH, Conn. A Greenwich man who discharged a handgun in a wooded area behind his home Monday has been arrested, police said.
Police were called to Cutler Road, where Thomas Belluci, 49, told police he had not heard any gunshots and had not used a gun. While officers searched the home, Belluci went into a room and closed the door behind him, police said. When he failed to comply with orders to open the door, officers went in and saw him leaning over two long gun cases.
Belluci then admitted to shooting a handgun from inside the home into the backyard. But he was uncooperative when questioned about the gun's location, police said. He was arrested on charges of unlawful discharge of a firearm, interfering with an officer, breach of peace and reckless endangerment. He is due in court Aug. 29.
