Greenwich Man Charged With Punching Another

A Greenwich man was arrested after a man told police he was assaulted on West Putnam Avenue. The victim said he was driving on Livingston Place when he saw Kevin Joyce, 40, of 12 Livingston Place, walking along the street.

The victim asked Joyce where his motor scooter was that he usually drives. Then Joyce, unprovoked, began to punch him in the head. The victim pushed Joyce away and left the area. Joyce was charged with breach of peace and released on a summons to appear in court May 6.

Also from the Greenwich police department: • Two men were arrested during a fight on Hamilton Avenue. A 21-year-old was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and assault of an elderly person after fighting with the 63-year-old man, who was also arrested on disorderly conduct charges. They were both released on $1,000 bonds and were due in court Monday.

• Jennifer Ortiz, 20, of 8 Ridge Place, Greenwich, was arrested Saturday on larceny charges. The victim told police said she was watching Ortiz’s child, and when she opened Ortiz’s backpack to get clothing for the child, she saw several items of jewelry that belonged to her in the pack. Ortiz was arrested and released on $500 bond. She is due in court May 9.

• Justin J. Smith, 31, of 52 Loughlin Ave., Greenwich, was arrested Sunday on a charge of failure to appear in court, stemming from a February arrest in which he was charged with driving with a suspended license. He was released on $500 bond and is due in court May 9.
