Greenwich Man Charged With Pretending to Drown

GREENWICH, Conn. --  A Greenwich man who pretended to be drowning at the Byram Park Pool on Tuesday was charged with creating a public disturbance, police reported.

A pool lifeguard and witnesses told police that Mlaka Wageh, of 17 Wilbur Peck Court, was seen apparently struggling to stay afloat. The lifeguards responded, but Wageh acted as if the incident was a joke, police said. He was ordered from the pool area by one of the lifeguards, but became argumentative and aggressive, police said. He received a summons and is due in court July 8.
