Greenwich Man Arrested in Scooter Accident

GREENWICH, Conn. – An accident Tuesday night involving a car and a motor scooter with an 8-year-old passenger resulted in charges against a Greenwich man, police said.  

Jhonny Rosero, 48, of 62 Wilburpeck Court, was driving his scooter on West Putnam Avenue when the accident occurred at the intersection with Old Post Road, police said.  They said Rosero was driving with a suspended license and his young passenger was not wearing protective eyewear or a helmet.

Rosero was charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended license, riding a motorcycle with no face protection, riding a motorcycle without headgear for minors, and risk of injury. He was released on a $500 bond and is due in court on Oct. 19.

• Kristopher Kellard, 26, of 5 Meadow Hill Place in Armonk, N.Y., was arrested during a motor vehicle stop in Greenwich Saturday on a warrant charging him with failure to plead or pay. The warrant stemmed from a Stamford incident involving a public disturbance. He was released on a $500 bond and is due in court on Oct. 17.

• Sylvitha Cherival, 24, of 380 Hawley Avenue in Bridgeport turned herself in to  Greenwich Police Friday on a warrant charging her with larceny, identity theft and credit card theft. She was released on a $5,000 bond and is due in court on Oct. 17.
