Greenwich Man Arrested After Leaving Crash Scene

A Port Chester, N.Y., man was arrested in Greenwich on Christmas Day after allegedly leaving the scene of a car accident on Delavan Avenue. Police arrived and found two cars had been struck.

Drivers told police the offending car, a 2003 black Ford Explorer, had left after the accident. The damaged Explorer was found unoccupied on Cedar Street, with its driver nowhere to be found. The car's driver, Sergio Ceja, 52, of 48 Grant St., returned to his car shortly after with a flashlight to inspect the damage. Ceja was arrested on charges of evading responsibility and unsafe movement. He posted $250 bond and is due in court Jan. 10.

Also from the police department:

• Thomas Jones, 57, of 4 Willow St., Port Chester, N.Y., was arrested on a warrant Sunday after failing to stop and leave information after a car accident Dec. 13, police said. Additionally, Jones had no driver's license and the vehicle he was driving was neither registered nor insured. He was released on $1,000 bond and is due in court Jan. 20.

• A 16-year-old Greenwich resident turned himself in to the police Monday on a warrant on charges of driving under the influence, operating a motor vehicle without a license and unsafe movement stemming from a car accident. He was released on $250 bond.
