Greenwich Greenhouse Worker Charged With Theft

GREENWICH, Conn. – A former worker at the Shemin Nursery in Greenwich was charged Tuesday with stealing from his employer for a number of months, police said.

Javier P. Godoy, 29, of 22 St. Joseph St., New Rochelle, N.Y., turned himself in on an active warrant charging him with larceny.

The charge stemmed from an investigation that found he had taken a number of items from his employer over several months before being reported, police said. The items were not specified, but police said the combined value exceeded $1,000. Godoy had been employed at the nursery for five years.

Godoy was released on $1,000 bond and is due in court June 1.
