Greenwich Cops Raid Drug Factory, Arrest 3

GREENWICH, Conn. – An anonymous tip to the Greenwich Police led to the arrest of three Greenwich men Thursday on drug charges, including operating a drug factory.

During August, the narcotics section of the department received multiple tips on its email tipline about daytime drug activity at 36 Valleywood Road. During investigations that followed, police saw drug transactions taking place at the house.

On Thursday night, undercover detectives saw a hand-to-hand drug deal being made at the house. During the deal, the police executed warrants for the arrest of Tito Jaramillo, 20, of 36 Valleywood Road. Jaramillo and his customer, John Caldwell, 21, had marijuana and cash in their possession, police said. The drugs and money were seized and both were arrested. Caldwell was charged with conspiracy to possess marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy to sell marijuana. He is due in court Sept. 22.

Right after the arrest, Jaramillo’s cell phone received a text message from another man who had negotiated a drug deal.  Members of the narcotics section met the man, Edward Davis, 22, on the street in front of Jaramillo’s house, police said. Davis admitted he was there to buy marijuana from Jaramillo, officers said. He was arrested on charges of conspiracy to sell marijuana, conspiracy to possess marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. He was released on a promise to appear in court Sept. 22.

Jaramillo was charged with cultivation of marijuana, operating a drug factory, conspiracy to sell marijuana, criminal attempt to sell marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. He was released on a $25,000 bond and is due in court Sept. 22.
