Greenwich Announces Road Closures For St. Pat's Parade

GREENWICH, CONN. – Marchers and watchers will paint Greenwich green at the town’s St. Patrick’s Day parade this Sunday, March 20, say officials.

The parade starts at 2 p.m. and the route begins at Town Hall, proceeds north to West Putnam Avenue, then east to Greenwich Avenue, and south to Steamboat Road.

Local police are advising motorists to be aware of the “no parking” zones in town that will be in effect from 10 a.m. until the parade ends at approximately 3 p.m.

Violators will be towed, police said.

Roads that will be closed until the parade’s end are:

  • Dayton Avenue, starting at 12 noon.
  • Field Point Road to East Elm Street, starting at 1 p.m.
  • The actual parade route, starting at 1:30 p.m.
  • West Putnam Avenue from Field Point Road to Greenwich Avenue, starting at 1:45 p.m.
